Our Braille program produces a wide range of educational materials that support students from kindergarden through high school.

Complex mathematical content is transcribed by using specialized Braille codes that accurately convey equations, symbols, formulas, fractions, and scientific notation.

Student textbooks, workbooks, reading assignments, grammar exercises, and literature studies are carefully transcribed into Braille.

Science materials often include specialized symbols, technical terminology, charts, diagrams, and tactile graphics to support learning.

History, civics, economics, and geography textbooks are converted into accessible formats that allow students to fully participate in classroom instruction.

Required reading novels and supplemental reading materials are transcribed to encourage literacy and independent reading.

These unique books enable visually impaired children and sighted family members to read together. They contain both print and Braille text, helping strengthen family members to read together. They contain both print and Braille text, helping strengthen family engagement while supporting literacy development.
When a new book is received, the team conducts a comprehensive review of the entire publication. The review includes:
The team evaluates whether the textbook requires:
Because Braille books are so significantly longer than traditional print books, most textbooks must be divided into multiple volumes.
The production team determines:
Production meetings are held to ensure every transcriber follows the same formatting guidelines and production procedures.
The collaborative approach helps maintain consistency across all volumes of a project.
Assigned transcribers begin converting the project into Braille format.
During this phase, special attention is given to:
Once transcription is complete, each volume undergoes a detailed proofreading review.
Proofreaders examine:
All identified issues are corrected and document before the volume advances to the next phase.
Each volume receives a final quality check to ensure it meets all educational and production standards.
After quality approval, the book is embossed into its final Braille format, assembled, and prepared for delivery.
Throughout the process, production data and performance metrics are tracked to maintain high-quality standards and continuous improvement.

PRI’s Transition Program helps participants prepare for life after release by connecting them with resources that support employment, education, housing, transportation, and other critical reentry needs. The program is designed to help individuals build stability, overcome barriers and confidently take the next step toward independence and long term success.
By providing practical support and guidance, transition support helps bridge the gap between incarceration and a successful return to the community.
